Decisions
It is early morning here. The quiet surrounds me as everyone else sleeps. This is the time of day that ideas, revelations, and decisions happen naturally. There is little time in our days to allow these important things to exist. We, collectively, are so busy with the daily events that if a deep, personal, defining thought tries to break through, it is quickly and effectively pushed aside with a small promise to revisit it when there is time. Some days we keep that promise and others slip away unfulfilled.
Don’t get me wrong. The motions of daily living are important. Families must be fed and clothed. They must be hugged and consoled. We must laugh and play together. But in order to be available for the busy times of life, it is imperative we have the quiet solitary moments.
People handle renewing times differently. Sometimes a person sits with pen in hand doodling away as thoughts flow. Sometimes a person sits with Bible open communing with God as burdens are lifted. Sometimes a person sits still and quiet in the moment as solutions form.
What do you do in these significant moments of life? I would enjoy hearing how you refresh in these special moments. All comments have to be approved before they are shared on the board. Be sure to let me know if you wish to have yours shared.
Wherever you are on this peaceful morning, I hope you take time to listen – really listen – to the quiet. If not today, maybe you will set your alarm a few minutes earlier tomorrow to enjoy a little time with yourself.
